You can switch over to Optus in a number of ways,

Joining Optus is easy! We've even put together a simple checklist for you:

  • An Australian address
  • A valid email address
  • 100 points of valid ID
  • Your most recent telco bill (if you're planning on transferring your existing number to Optus)

What is 100 points of identification?

Important! Make sure your ID hasn't expired, otherwise we won't be able to accept it.

You'll need 100 points of ID:

  • A minimum of one Primary ID
  • Any combinations of ID will need to add up to 100 points

PRIMARY ID (70 POINTS)

 

SECONDARY ID (30 POINTS)

  • Australian Drivers Licence
  • Current Passport (Australian or International with a current visa)
  • Current Proof of Age Card (with photo) *
  • Australian Shooters Licence or Firearm Licence
  • Australian Learners Permit
  • Australian Boating Licence

* if you're using a proof of age card, a current Medicare card must also be provided

 
  • Medicare Card
  • Current Credit / Debit Card
  • Pensioners Concession Card *
  • Existing Optus Account Number
  • Valid Tertiary Student ID Card (with photo, student number and institution)
  • Full Australian Birth Certificate
  • Australian Citizenship / Marriage Certificate

* Australian Pensioner Concession Card Veteran's Affairs or Aged Pension count as 40 Points

 

 

ISSUED WITHIN THE LAST 30 DAYS WITH CURRENT ADDRESS

  • Mortgage Documents
  • Current Rental Agreement / Bond Notice
  • Current Vehicle Registration

 

 

ISSUED WITHIN THE LAST 90 DAYS WITH CURRENT ADDRESS

  • Most recent Telco / Utility Bill
  • Bank Statement
  • Current Rates Notice
