Where can I use an Optus Travel Pack?

To keep things simple, we've split the world into two zones (Zone 1 or Zone 2). Optus Travel Packs are available for use in Zone 1 countries only. Keep in mind, standard voice calls and SMS to a Zone 2 country from a Zone 1 country is also included.

Use the world map on our website or the My Optus app to check the Zones.

Accumulate your data

Travel Packs that are purchased for consecutive days (up to a maximum of 31 days), will accumulate data. The combined total data can be used over the course of the purchased days however you choose, e.g. all in one day or split over the multiple days.

Note: If you’ve purchased a Travel Pack on separate days, the data will not accumulate.

Example 1. You’ve purchased a 5 day consecutive Optus Travel Pack:

  • Cost = $50 (5 days at $10 per day)
  • Total data = 500MB (5 days at 100MB per day)

Example 2.

You purchased a 5 day Optus Travel Pack and then decide to purchase an extra week:

  • 5 Day Optus Travel Pack:
Cost: $50 (5 days at $10 per day)
Total Data: 500MB (to use within those 5 days)
  • Additional 7 Days Optus Travel Pack
Cost: $70 (7 days at $10 per day)
Total Data: 700MB (to use within those 7 days only)
    • Total Cost: $120 (for 12 days)
    • The 2 separate packs do not combine data allowances as they were purchased separately

How do I purchase an Optus Travel Pack?

Optus Travel Packs can be purchased using the My Optus app or My Account within the 3 days, before they’re required to start.

If you’re trying to change the start date of an existing Optus Travel Pack, click here.

You will need to call us to change the start date of an existing Optus Travel Pack on 133 937 before you leave, or +61 2 8082 5678 from overseas (this number is free to call from a roaming Optus Mobile Phone service).

Note: Dates cannot be changed once an Optus Travel Pack has already started.

When adding an Optus Travel Pack there a 2 things to keep in mind:

  1. The  date you want the Travel Pack to start
  2. The number of days you need the Travel Pack for

What date do I want the Travel Pack to start?

Optus Travel Packs will need to be added using the local date of the country / countries you’re visiting. A Travel Pack cannot be added if the date has already passed in Australia. We recommended checking your travel itinerary to confirm the date in local time.

Example: You land in America on the 12th (American time) and try to purchase a Travel Pack for the same day (12th). Due to the time difference, it's already the 13th in Australia. This means you won’t be able to purchase a Travel Pack on the 12th, you will only be able to purchase a Travel Pack from the 13th onwards.

How many days do I need?

Travel Packs are date inclusive. This means you need to include the day you start the pack and the last day you want to use the pack when counting the amount of days required.

Example: You want a Travel Pack from the 10th to 13th. This is 4 days as the 10th is day 1, 11th is day 2, 12th is day 3 and 13th is day 4.

Note: Data usage and notifications may be delayed.
