How to Request More Time To Pay Your Bill

Arrange a payment extension with one of the options below. Please note that organising a payment extension may still incur a late payment fee.

Arrange a payment extension online

If you have a Mobile Phone, Fixed Phone and / or Broadband service, you can request a payment extension online by logging into My Account?.

  1. If you're eligible for a payment extension, we'll provide you with a new proposed payment due date

  2. After you Submit and accept this new due date. Select No if you don't want to proceed with the extension
    Note: If you select No, your due date will not be changed and you'll need to pay the outstanding amount by the original date to avoid service restrictions and possible late payment fees

  3. Once you've accepted the new due date, you'll see a confirmation on the screen.
    Note: The new due date will not be displayed in the My Account dashboard. Instead, you'll receive an email or SMS to confirm the payment extension

If you can't request a payment extension, give us a call. You can still call us from services that have been restricted.

Arrange a payment extension using My Optus app

If you have a Mobile Phone account, you can request a payment extension using the My Optus app.

  1. Open the My Optus app

  2. Tap on the Menu bar

  3. Tap Billing

  4. Tap Request Extension

  5. Enter your My Account details and tap on Log In to continue

  6. If you're eligible for a payment extension, we'll provide you with a new proposed payment due date

  7. Select Yes to accept this new due date. Select No Thanks if you don't want to proceed with the extension
    Note. If you select No Thanks, your due date will not be changed and you'll need to pay the outstanding amount by the original date to avoid service restrictions and possible late payment fees

  8. Once you've accepted the new due date, you'll see a confirmation on the screen. We'll also send an SMS to confirm the payment extension

Note. If you're not eligible for a payment extension or unable to proceed due to a system error, you'll be prompted to chat with us.
